Jacob is 2 months!

Our baby is already two months old! He's 9 weeks and growing so fast - he's slightly above average with a weight of 13 lbs 12 oz, but he has an average length of 23". Jacob had his shots and he was very well behaved - he yelled just a little bit (mostly before the needle poke) and then he fell asleep within 10 minutes because he'd been awake for more than 2 hours before hand. The doctor said Jacob should be sleeping through the night based on his age and weight, so we made a few minor adjustments to the nighttime routine (i.e. don't pick him up to change a diaper - change it where he sleeps) and he lasted 8 hours! That's a big change from the initial 1.5 hours, which progressed to 3 hours, then 4 hours, and now 8 hours (with a few rounds of delivering the pacifier) between meals!

Jacob loves playing in his ocean gym, and he's getting much better at hitting the hanging toys repeatedly. He is starting to grab things, but mostly uses his fists to hit his target. He loves to stare into the eyes of the octopus, probably because they are black & white and draw his attention.

We've taken him on several walks in the neighborhood. He doesn't last very long awake, but he does notice if you stop moving.
Jacob loves his baths as long as they are after a meal. We noticed he has a little 'milk belly' and some boobies last Sunday!

Well, I'll be going back to work in a few weeks so we're starting the preparations for day care. They will take great care of him at the Valero Day Care, but I'll miss seeing him all day. At the same time, it will be nice for me to get back into my own routine and back into the swing of things at USAA : )
