Mando is off to Japan

My baby brother, Armando, turned 21 years and he headed out to Japan last week. He spent a month at home in San Antonio, hanging out with family and friends, and now he's officially starting his Navy career. He'll be stationed at the Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan for 3 years on the USS Blue Ridge.

Baby Shower at Patty's

Yesterday, my cousins Patty and Doreen hosted a very nice baby shower at Patty and Moses' home. Baby Jacob is well on his way toward a great wardrobe and I now have several essentials, such as a baby sling, baby bouncer, and newborn diapers.

It was a small gathering of family and friends, including some visitors from out of town. Doreen's daughter, my second cousin, Jennifer was visiting from NYC and my friend Anu (also pregnant and due in July) drove down from Austin.

We played several games and the prizes were cute bird feeders built by my great uncle Mingo. Laura and Jessica were the winners of my baby quiz. Fun was had by all!
