Jacob's 15th month

Jacob continued to be very active in October, but he's still not walking without hanging onto something.  He's getting longer and thinner, loosing quite a bit of the extra baby fat.  Jacob likes to climb up the stairs, and he's progressed to holding onto the railing and waling up.

At his 15 month exam, Jacob weighed in just under 29 lbs and just under 33" tall, putting him in the 95th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height.  He's still wearing 4T, but 3T pants fit well now that he's slimmer in the belly area.  Jacob is still wearing size 6 diapers, which he's been wearing for several months due to the wide width.  But the good news is he's kept that same size!  The next and final larger sizes are pull-ups, but he's not potty trained yet.  I was originally assuming he couldn't potty train before he could walk, but I'm hearing that's not a requirement.  So, we need to get moving.  I bought the potty, but I still need to do some reading to figure out what I'm supposed to do next!

Jacob likes to say certain words, for example 'uh-ohh' is something he says frequently.  Sometimes he doesn't time it correctly and he says 'uh-ohh' before throwing something.  Jacob also continues to frequently say: ball, bird, more, and car.  Although he skips the final consonant of the word, we still know what he's trying to say and we repeat the whole word so he can hear it.

Jacob continues to explore stacking things and fitting things together, everything from plastic containers and cups to putting the lid on his bottle.  Jacob's pediatrician said it was okay to continue giving him milk in a bottle, so he downs 10 oz of warm milk every evening.  Jacob also grabs his sippy cup in his stroller, takes a drink, and then puts it back into the cup holder.

Jacob is still a great eater.  He is very adventurous in exploring new foods.  Jacob also loves using his fork and spoon.  He tries with every meal.  He saw mommy eating a bowl of cheerios last week, and he had to have some too.  He used his spoon and ate several o's, but I think it was moving too slow and he eventually switched over to his hands.

In mid-October, Jacob brought home a not so nice incident report from day care.  For the first time, instead of another kid biting or scratching him, Jacob was the instigator.  Jacob bit one of his friends, and we didn't realize that it was his friend Phillip until the following week at Phillip's 1st birthday party when the topic came up in front of the entire party!  We've had no other negative incidents reported in the past month, so hopefully Jacob doesn't continue these undesirable behaviors.
