We've had a great 2008 and we're looking forward to this next year, when we hope to introduce a baby into this world. We had lots of fun with family celebrating a pre-birthday celebration for Manuel's birthday before Christmas (his birthday is 12/27) with a tex-mex dinner and mariachis. Although our special surprize guest, my brother Armando, didn't show up in time to celebrate from Illinois due to bad weather. 
We got together for caldo de res (beef soup with vegetables) the next day at my house. Mando told us about his adventures since joining the Navy in August and he showed us his dog tags.
We've had a nice visit with Manuel's parents this past month, and they'll be with us for New Years before heading back to Victoria, Mexico. I think my nausea is calming down, so I'm very happy about that, although I'm constantly hungry and my lower back has been bothering me. Other than carrying over some of these discomforts into next year, we're looking forward to 2009!

Man, poor Manuel's dad. Why don't you guys just make him take the photo? You already have him half way out of the picture. :-)
